The first safe was bought at a hardware store. The owner went on holiday --and came back to find his safe n it’s back in his garage. One or more burglars had pried it from it’s bolts (in the floor), hauled it out to his own garage, and then used his power tools and a crowbar to pry it open. It must have taken them several hours, but nevertheless, he lost what he’d sought to protect in the first place.

We’ve learned that people end up putting more things in their safe than they originally anticipated.

We’ve learned that box stores, hardware stores, and sporting goods may occasionally sell safes, but not one of the salespeople we’ve ever spoken too really know their product and whether it’s truly “safe” or not (read: bad).
