The Right Gun Safe and Humidity

Dear Mr. Callos,

I’ve been looking around your website (www.theSAFEplace.com) and I’m starting to narrow down the choices available. First, thank you for making your website easy to navigate. Second, thank you for making it easy to talk to a real live person! Posting your phone number at the bottom of the site has allowed me several phone calls to your office (GREATLY APPRECIATED).

I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy the American Security SF6036 Gun Safe for the price you have advertised (about $800 less than the gun shop in the next town over from where I live). I like the 34 gun capacity and the fact that it’s 36 inches wide. That means it’s going to fit through all my doors and into a closet space that’s perfect for the safe.

The 60 minute fire rating works for me too. Question:

I’m a bit concerned about the humidity here in South Carolina. Do I need to worry about my guns rusting in this closet, as it’s next to my laundry room where the humidity seems a bit higher than in the rest of the house?

Thank you again for your patience, courtesy, and time!
