Advice for Gun Safe Buyer

Mr. Callos,

I'm GOING to buy a gun safe. I'm not intending to spend more money that I have to. I have 16 rifles, 4 handguns, and ammo I want to keep in it, currently. I want to put my wife's jewelry box in it when we go on vacation. I want to put my dad's signed Babe Ruth baseball I inherited in it. I want to have space, too, for assorted valuables like cameras, flip video cams, and other things that I think could get carried off in a burglary.

I live out in the country, about 20 minutes from a fire station, so I'm thinking I need a 30 or 60 minute fire rating for the safe I want. I want to spend less than $2000.

What do you have for me?

Mitch

Thank you for writing Mitch,

I'd start by looking at the new Winchester Legacy 26, which is currently on safe at about $1500. Here's the link: http://www.safes4you.com/gun-safes/winchester/legacy-26.html

It has a 2 hour fire rating and lots of shelves and space.

Look that one over and also visit www.thesafeplace.com. When you've spotted anything you'd like to talk about, call me (or anyone on my team) at 775-358-7233. We'll fix you up with something remarkable, priced right.
